The beleaguered freshman

A SENIOR HAD backed a meek little freshman into a corner and was bombarding him with an impressive string of scientific facts...

He said, "Did you know that...?  Are you aware of...?  Does it interest you...?"

Finally, the beleaguered freshman got a word in edgewise.  "Well, there is one thing you don't know," he said, half-crying.

The senior snapped back, "And just what is that...?"

"You don't know," sobbed the freshman, "that you are standing on my sore foot..."
