How do prisoners protect themselves from attacks?

You may not realize it, but your local phone book literally saves lives.  It has emergency numbers, of course, but this is not the life-saving information I have in mind.

This week I learned that many people in prison actually "wear" phone books.  These bulky books are attached around a prisoner's waist so if he (or she) is stabbed, the assault is absorbed by the phone book.  Think of it as a type of "free bullet proof vest" for prisoners.

People will go to great lengths to protect their lives and health.  Unfortunately many fail to address the most consideration of life.  Jesus said, "And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

What is the status of your soul?  Is it saved or lost?  If you do not know, go to your local phone book.  You probably don't need it for a bullet proof vest, but it will help you find a Church of Christ (people who really strive to follow the Bible) in your local area.  Take a Sunday to worship with them and see if this religious group does not exemplify the type of Christianity described in the Bible.
